I'm thinking of wearing this dress over the Christmas with red shoes possibly or black if I'm wearing black tights with it. Just wondering your opinions on it, is the feather silly looking on it?

I like the dress and the feathers. If you've long hair wear it up to get the full effect of the feathers. I think black shoes would be best. IMO red and green can be very christmassy looking and the feathers are really the focal point of the outfit so shoes/accessories should be understated.

Thanks for the advice, Yeah it might be too christmassy with the shoes. So do you think maybe a nice bracelet and no earrings or a statement ring?

I like the dress and the feathers (although i would be worried about them being pulled off )

+1 on wearing black heels with it

Love this dress! Very unusual and pretty. I agree with avoiding the red shows, could be ott Christmas and would take away from the lovely feather detail.

One thing, have you tried on this dress already? I'm just asking cos it looks like it could be very short on. I wore a really short dress last Christmas day and felt quite uncomfortable all day visiting the relatives! I ended up changing into jeans!

I must be getting old, thought it was a top not a dress:D

Very pretty and unusual though, but agree it needs to be comfortable!

I got a lovely pair of red heels that would look lovely with it, and not too Christmassy. They are ultra comfy, got them in Office.

I've tried it on, its not overly short to be honest and I'm around 5 8, I'll be wearing it on nights out anyway but maybe I should wear black tights with it. Those shoes are fab I have to say!

    Not my cuppa.

Red shoes? You may be mistaken for looking like a Christmas tree.

I'd stick with black shoes, black tights look.

My friend and I were looking at this dress last week and afterwards we were wondering if the feathers are detachable???

I'd go with black tight and shoes also.

Love the dress - the feathers look fab and are really on trend too!

Think it probably would be best to stick with black shoes. The dress is the statement piece so go low key with shoes, bags and jewellery.

Oh as an earlier poster said if you have long hair, an updo would really show off the feather detail!

I like it. I think the feathers are really unusual and a great focal point. I wouldn't wear red shoes with it personally. I'd go for black and just let the feathers do the talking. For a night out, I probably wouldn't wear tights either.

Thanks for all the feedback, yeah I'd be a bit worried about the feathers coming off. I'm not mad about wearing tights on a night tbh but I'll definitively wear black heels I just had in my mind red and green looking well together but think it would a be too festive and over the top!:D

I actually think red shoes would be lovely any other time of year (love the ones posted earlier!) I think they would be just ott for this time of the year (people would think you had a Christmas theme going on!) But providing all the feathers don't fall off and you can wear it again, I think red shoes would look great!

If you must wear earrings I'd just go with a simple stud. IMO You could do both the bracelets and ring if you want, a big cocktail ring on one hand and maybe an oversize bangle on the opposite wrist?
