Local barman was in a shop the other day what sold saorview boxes. The woman behind the counter told him no need for aerial, just plug it into tv. I told him it would need some way of recieving the signal. He had said this to her but she was certain it didnt. Just plug it into the telly. Im sure she was wrong but he said she was certain. Can anyone clarify this? Box was 80quid.

Unless u are sitting on top of the transmitter there is no way you would get it without an aerial. Depending on where u are a UHF Loop aerial connected to the box may be adequate or an aerial would need to be either fixed to the outside of your home or if ur lucky in an attic..
