Right, I've got my new wheels
On the way (mavic kyrsims) but the next step is the groupset.

I have been told that the hub will take both SRAM and shimano.
I have been riding shimano (sora)
Had a go on SRAM and liked it.
Looking at 105, rival or maybe even apex. Ratios are fairly wide
On the apex tho. On bike 24 apex is similarly priced to 105. Any info would be appreciated :)

stick to the shimano , apex poorer product then 105 , qiuite simply it just doesnt work as well , but it does have a 34 rear , if your planning to ride up a wall, thats my 2cents worth anyhow

+1 on the 105, the new 5700 is a huge step-up, almost to Ultegra standard.

    Cheaper here though .......

Nice site. Would I need much to mount it myself? What would I need to know before ordering off that site? I know I need a 175 crank. What rear cassette would be ok ?

To order a full groupset you need to know:

    1. Bottom Bracket Type - BSA or Italian (usually BSA)
    2. Cranset Type - Standard, Compact or Triple
    3. Crank Length - you know you need 175mm - how do you know?
    4. Front Mech size - Braze on, 31.6 or 34.9 - depends on your frame
    5. Cassette - personal choice
    6. Colour - personal choice

A set of Allen keys covers most things but you'll also need a cassette tool, a bottom bracket tool, a crank tool, a cable cutters, grease and if you've any carbon components, a torque wrench and some carbon assembly paste.

Oh, you'll also need a chain tool to cut and fit chain and if you want to take your old cassette off your old wheel you'll need a chain whip:). Might be worth buying a bike tool kit while you're at it!

Seems like it might be worth it alright :)
