    Hi,

Myself and a few of my friends are planning on going to Rathmines for dinner on New Years Eve before we head out for the night. 5 guys in total. Looking for somewhere that is nice, not too fancy, but which does great food at good prices and where we can have a few glasses of wine/beer.

Dont know much about the restaurants around there so was hoping for some suggestions here.

    Thanks,

I'd be thinking Kafka or Monty's*. You'd need to check if they're open, though.

*A bit further away, on the Rathmines side of Rathgar, but worth the walk.

If they are open, Manifesto would be great.

    Pity Monsoon is gone.

If you go to Rotana, just over the bridge there in Portobello, you can bring your own wine/beer. Delicious lebanese fare. Not too sure if it's open on NYE though.

The Village Cafe, it's near the firestation, across from the library.

    Manifesto. Great pizza.

Am not a huge Jo Burger fan. Was great when it opened, but is a bit meh now.

    I second Rotana Cafe.

Lovely food and BYO, which makes the night quite a lot cheaper as well.
