    Hi all,

Just looking for some advice on a cavity block shelf unit im putting up on a bedroom floor.
Im just wondering if it might be too heavy for the floor? it will include 6 cavity blocks in total, thats roughly 148kg, iv calculated the wooden shelfs which are 9"x2"x8foot long, plus the weight of books roughly 30-40kg, making a total weight of roughly 190/200kg altogether. the total weight is prob 20/30kg less but id like to be on the safe side. Im putting one of the lengths of 9"x2"x8foot on the floor first to distribute the load, the floor is laminate wood floor with underground central heating.

hope this makes sense and that someone can shed some light on it:)

    Thanks in advance,

    Dec

200kg is just 2 slim Americanos on the way into Claimjumpers:D

What is the floor under the laminate: is it concrete?

A block in the middle will spread load
