think the mobile BB is a no-no--you'll probably have very high ping times which would make online gaming a nightmare.

how come you cant get eircomm BB/too far from the exchange?

I game online with mobile BB and for the most part its fine. I do get times where i get lots of lag. Most of the time it works fine.

If you already have the modem just plug it into the computer and turn it on as normal. You'll need to connect your ps3 to the pc with an ethernet cable and it should work.

I have mobile BB with one of the wireless dongles and it works fine most the time. If you get 2bars on 3g signal you'll be able to play most games online fairly ok. If the signal drops below that you could start encountering problems.

I have no issues with Gran Turismo 5 or Resi 5 online

If you want to create a wireless network with your 3G modem, then it's something like this you will need:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-Link-TL-MR3420-300MBPS-Wireless-Router/dp/B003WK62OS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1324575855&sr=8-2

3g is the name of a phone network and the name of the tech that all these companies use, you have a O2 3g modem.
