You will need a remap to get the best out of it for sure, probably only see real good gains if you uprate things like intercooler and injectors to allow the turbo work to its full potential, and then a turbo back exhaust will also help some more.

Changing the turbo is never the first stage of tuning.

Before you can make any use of the extra and/or different airflow characteristics and increased boost ability of an upgraded turbo, you would need to have upgraded intercooler, mappable ecu, larger capacity injectors etc in place.

A hybrid turbo would flow/boost differently to you original turbo, meaning without other upgrades your fuelling will be off and you could likely end up with less power.

1st should be plan the entire build.

    1. Your budget
    2. Your goals

    Then:
    Cost the components you'll need.

    1.Intercooler/fixings/pipes
    2.Injectors
    3.Mapping costs

Adjust the project to meet your budget and goals.

If someone has already done the modifications your suggesting find the thread and maybe have a chat with them.

Also reading doesn't hurt: (old but valid)
