    VAT back on House Sale?
I have just sold an investment property with a huge loss.

I have paid VAT on solicitors fees and estate agent fees.

Anyone know if there is anything I can claim back ie VAT, stamp duty etc.

You will need to have been registered for VAT. Even then, you may have difficulties.

You should be able to off-set the loss against future capital gains.

i paid capital gains a few years ago on SSIA, could that be claimed back.

Or should I just forget about it.

You probably paid Exit Tax, not CGT. And no, you won't get it back.
