    Hi there.

My mother has sent me a few old photos she was hoping I could enhance for her.

Are there any obvious things I should do here? Anyone got a good tutorial I could follow?

    Thanks.

Depends what you have to enhance. If they are torn/badly worn then lightroom is pretty much useless but if you just want to increase contrast/fix WB then LR can do this for you pretty easily.

I dont mean to be rude but reading your post reminded me of an episode of CSI (not the original unfortunately ...the Miami one ...Horatio Caine) ...anyway ... there's a CCTV shot and they zoom in about 4 times to what is a very pixelated registration plate which was in the distance ....low and behold..what does he suggest next ... "Enhance that area please" ... and it becomes clear as day.

anyway - as Ballyman says - it all depends on what you want to do with the images....do you want to "enhance" the contrast, remove or repair parts of the image ...you may need to download the free trial of photoshop....but be prepared that you could be in for a lot of hours in front of the computer repairing images...its not as simple as pressing an "enhance" button.

I'm not sure what she wants. She just sent me 10 photos so I definitely won't be spending hours trying to repair all cuts and damage to them. Sure I'll see what I can with the colours and white balance on them, hopefully that will keep her happy.
