Anyone know any shops in Dublin that sell origami paper? I would have thought the Art & Hobby shops would be pretty obvious, but it seems I was wrong.

Blink and you'll miss it, but Hodges Figgis also keep origami paper in among their crafts books. Very nice patterned paper, 6 3/4 inch, €8-odd for a pack of 48 sheets. Muji's floral patterned paper is also quite nice, but a bit smaller, and with I think twenty-eight sheets per pack.

I get all mine in Muji. Happy enough with the price in there.

I had a look online a few months back wanted to order a load of it and found it all to be very expensive?? Is it dabbed with angel tears or something??!! saw some cool geometric ones on www.etsy.com as well I dunno if you guys buy online though might be worth looking!

Thanks Whippet. Checked Etsy, £16.00 Stg. for 200 sheets in a Gift Pack, seems a good price compared to the local shops but I don't need that much. I was in city centre recently but didn't get time to go up to Muji but will check it out next time. Alternatively, it's back to cutting up some wrapping paper.

If you are doing traditional origami then you need to be very precise with your cutting, and folding of course.

HI, You can get it in The Art & Hobby Shop in Stephens Green, around 8 or 9 euro

This might be of interest here. I popped into the National Gallery (Clare Street entrance) today and there was a book in the shop called 'Fly Origami Fly'. It had 50 sheets of origami paper included and 35 projects. Some were aimed at children and others not. The price of the book was €15.85 but you can get it on Amazon for as little as under a fiver Sterling plus post.

Normal printer paper lightly coloured with a wax crayon makes much crisper folds than plain paper, also stronger and more forgiving than wrapping paper, alternately you get practice origami paper online much cheaper than any of the shops in Dublin

I got some in Tiger last month which had hearts printed on it and then more recently I saw some plain paper in there. I think it was 3EUR.
