Rent relief following receipt of new tax cert

    Hi there,

I did a search on this topic on the thread and cant seem to find a definitive answer to my question.

I applied for rent relief approx 3 weeks ago, i sent the form in to the tax office. As indicated here, I received an ammended tax cert for this year.

I have been renting since Sept 2010 and I have not yet received my refund up for 2010 - how long does this typically take to cone through?

I understand that I will not receive a refund for 2011 yet as we are still in the tax year, or will I receive my refund with my December salary? or how does it work?

    Thanks!

Just call the PAYE 1890 number to make sure they added it for 2010. They may have only just amended 2011.

Refunds relating to prior tax years are sent as a cheque to your address or to your bank account if you supplied your bank details.

If you had used the online service you would have seen a new cert issue within 48 hours and any refund for 2010 issue at the same time.
