Hi all, I hope this is an ok Q for this forum...

I'm a Mac user but have to buy a PC for my son who is a gamer and
doesn't really appreciate the finer points ;) and cash is very short.

He is a gamer, but not a super dooper one who plays the latest hi level
    graphics intensive stuff.

He plays online strategy games such as WoW and LoL (League of
    Legends...).

He has been playing these on my 3 year old iMac with excellent results
and graphics. So they mustn't be enormously demanding of processing
    power.

As a result I am sceptical if he really needs a specifically 'gaming'
PC, such as the Alienware that Dell sells for quite a bit of cash.

Would anyone have any suggestions for PC models and sources ?

    Regards and thanks in anticipation

It might be worth asking the lads in here. State your budget and answer these questions. The lads know what they're talking about and you might save a decent lump of cash.

www1.hardwareversand.de is possibly the most recommended site for ordering from and they offer a building service for a small fee, you would just have to order.

I can't help you with off the shelf advice, apologies.

I'm actually highly interested in this computer stuff and I have built a PC myself. If you're looking at gaming PCs, I do highly recommend building it. And I noticed that you mentioned that you don't want to but if you have even the slightest time, why not try? It's really pretty simple especially when you're not trying to build a super machine anyway. Depending on your location, I'd be willing to help out all throughout the process if you're interested in that. No charge. It's christmas.
