    Hi,

I have an account with a website but I want to start a new account with a different email address so that I have two accounts. The website says that I am not allowed register for more than one account. Ive tried working through a proxy with a different ip and clearing history and cookies but it still says I cant register more than two accounts. How does the website know i already have an account? And is there a workaround?

Don't bother if you are breaking their T&C's.

Is this website called boards.ie, by any chance? :D

Like the man said, don't waste your time. You might find a way around the sign-up, but you will get caught eventually. Then both your accounts will get banned.

Haha no its not boards :p

I'm not breaking their t&cs (I actually read them all to see if anything was mentioned). Whats happening is myself and my mum have an account we both use and now I want one of my own while she keeps the old one. Kind of annoying. It'll probably work if i set up the account from another computer on a different IP. But I can't understand how they know it's still me trying to register when i'm using a proxy etc!

Seems a legitimate use, why not contact the website?

There are ways to work around this but I'm not telling :p
Contact the site as suggested and if they believe you they might give you a second account.

Ah go on tell me!! I contacted the site and this is what they said:

Unfortunately not, our system detects that an account has already been created with that computer automatically and there is no way to work around it.
However, we would be happy to have you as a customer so we advise that you try another computer on a different network other than the one you have already tried.

I just want to find out how to get around it now just to see if I can. I don't want to do anything illegal though! I've downloaded Tor to hide my ip etc but they still know its my computer!! Any ideas?
