PTEO & JSA

I'm on JSA since July and have been in a part time postgrad since October which is one half day per week. I'm actively seeking employment and have had a few interviews. When I began my course one of my classmates said that I wouldn't have to notify the social welfare of my course because I was still available for and seeking full time work. I've been uncomfortable about this and over the weekend did a bit of searching on it and found that I should have declared my course and applied for the PTEO.

I'm really worried about this now :( What happens if I declare it now and am refused? I won't be able to finish my postgrad which is essential for my qualification. What would be the chances of being accepted through this scheme? I can't find out very much about it at all and don't want to raise it with social wefare for obvious reasons. Really need your help :(
