As a frequent (8flights /yr) flyer on Etihad it has to be said that their service is getting dire, and Abu Dhabi airport is a pig pen.

I'd advise anyone flying east out of Dublin to give Emirates a go in preference to Etihad - I've booked my next Jan trip with Emirates so hopefully they'll be an improvement I KNOW Dubai airport is better than Abu Dhabi so let's see !!!

I'm hearing mixed reports about Etihad though some are not too good especially looking at this website.....You should check out www.airlinequality.com the Skytrax website, you'll get an idea of passenger feedback.

Flew with Emirates once on the A380 and would highly recommend them, great service, lots of legroom in Economy and brilliant ICE entertainment system at the back of seats which will keep you busy for hours! Dubai is a better airport too and a nice stopover city to visit.

I've heard Emirates are placing their oldest aircraft on the Dublin route.

True the A330's are gona be used but I hear not for long as they are getting rid of them from the fleet soon. I believe someone has mentioned on a forum somewhere that the A340's will be used in Oct next year, after that depending on how well the service does possibly upgrade to a B773 (nice aircraft to fly!). Doubt Dublin will ever see a double decker A380 service, but hey miracles do and can happen! ;)

I fly to UAE more then twice a year and i usually use Etihad Airline but then i have to take bus to Dubai.

So this year i decided to use Emirate Airline and i feel disappointed :

From Dublin to Dubai - Poor Entertainment system comparing to Ethiad as with Emirate system is like TV you can not pause or select movie.., but Etihad you have the option to selection/pause....... plus my screen keep rebooting every 5mint

From Dubai to Dublin - the plane was over booked and they refused 15 passengers - Why do they allow 15 more booking the 1st place, the girl on the desk said the only reason they accepted more booking in hope people will cancel!!!

Also they did not inform anyone the plan is full via email/sms/phone so i have to wake and be in the airport 4am and get the news!!!

Yea the A332's don't have a good Entertainment system but hold out until July, the Boeing 773's have ICE. They are introducing the Boeing's on the Dublin route. Far far better.

Over all I have heard good experiences of Emirates. Any airline could/does over over book a flight. Seems these flights are so busy they need a larger aircraft.
A bad experience perhaps but they are only new on the route. Give them a chance.
