ok, ive got it installed and working great, its fast , clean, latency has dropped a little , and i can use 16 gig of ram .

    BUT

    here is a tip

DO NOT DISABLE THE POWER SERVICE

i went on a few daw tweak sites , and did exactly this as part of the tweaks - and if you do this you lose ALL audio and midi , until you switch the power service back on .
fcuk knows why , but it does.

just in case it ever happens to you :):pac:

otherwise , it really is great.

    I've got another tip.

Go to the command line, and try the start command. Just launch a dos box and type start and hit return. start /? to see all the possible commands. And how to run it properly.

If I want to run Ableton in Realtime mode, I use the command below.

    C:\Windows\system32>start "unimportantbutyouhavetotypesomethinghere" "C:\ProgramFiles\Ableton\Live 7.0.3\Program\Live 7.0.3.exe" /REALTIME

By launching a program in REALTIME it gives the application the highest priority - so it gets more processing power. You have to experiment with it. Though I haven't tried it. I think it might be possible to add the /REALTIME switch in the shortcut.

It might make the app a little unstable, but you do get the extra processing power. Microsoft had the Realtime feature disabled on early versions of Windows. Which was a real pity.

There may be a way to heavily tweak the system, where all audio features are given maximum processing power and everything else given the minimum.
