my father was looking at a new shotgun recently. its a KOFS , a turkish gun ,under and over.A really nice light gun that comes up to the shoulder right each time.He would be slow to change because he would have to hand his COOEY single barrell hammer gun which was his second gun along with a Beretta and a.22. The KOFS would be a nice gun for someone on a training licence though.

ive not heard of it but what ive seen from most turkish guns is there muck
look the part but the guts are made from cheap metal and wear away in no time
theres was a certain gun dealer in tipp selling
what looked like a good gun think it was called delux irish game or something similar
    but made in turkey
id say it had a different name in every country it was sold in lol
saw them when i was looking for a new gun and i ran a mile from it

needless to say about a year later a lad in our gun club arrived on with one
he didnt get a year out of it and the pins were gone sears worn etc
they had to call back all the guns and the gun dealer had to replace all the parts in them with ones of better quality

Trade a Beretta and two other guns for a Turkish gun ? Put it this way : would you hand over your good VW Golf, a good pushbike and your chainsaw for a new Lada ?

Here there is a dealer flat out selling 'Mercurys'

They are basically a Turkish copy of a beretta using what I can only assume to be ****e materials.

I have the ATA(Turkish Arms) Semi auto 12 gauge going on three years now ,lost count of the shells put through it for clays & rough shooting .Put that gun through a serious amount punishment & not one stoppage or problem. No experience with the make you mentioned in the original post but the ATA i would not hesitate to recommend.

What I meant earlier was that he can only have 3 firearms in the house without an alarm and in that case the COOEY hammer would be the one to go and as he still knocks a few birds with it he would like to be sure first. The only reason he might change would be that I could start off with a modern light gun. This KOFS weights in at about 6lbs.

I saw one of them in the local dealers, not much less than a Silma u/o but not as good of a gun. He told us of another turkisk gun,a Yildiz, that he had to take back as it was discharging both barrels when closing. His description was "Turkish sh1te" lol

Yeah that's the one. They make a semi and an o/u.

I have only heard good reports of them, I just don't see how they can use good materials at the prices they are charging...

The o/u has plactic stock and fore-end but still I would question the quality.
I heard of a good few hatsans that wrecked barrels because pressure was getting between the barrel and chokes...
