too bright yellow paint

hi we bought some tins of paint to brighten up the sitting room and hall. but after doing a test spot on the walls the yellow is just to bright, is there any thing we could add to tone it down. thanks

You could also try mixing it with a bit of grey to bring down the 'strength' of the yellowness but go a little grey goes a long way.
