Anyone relocated to the Canary Islands?

Just wondering if anyone here has tried recently (within the last 2-3 years) to relocate to the Canary Islands?

I'm guessing work is hard to come by? I suppose there's a better chance of me striking oil there than getting a software job over there?

Not seriously considering it at the moment but it's one of those things at the back of my mind that I might do if things change.

    Thanks!

As Spain is in just as bad a situation as Ireland economically, I wouldn't say this is the best idea. Unemployment is 15% I believe.

Dunno about the job situation for IT people, but if I were you, I'd do my research VERY carefully, and really think through what you need to do to achieve this.

I would also add I think the Canaries are treated differently from mainland Spain, much the same as the Channel Islands, Gib and Isle of Man are from mainland UK. You need to check this over carefully too.

    Hope this helps!
