A Recession

Why are the EU leaders terrified of recessions and determined to continue this charade? Greenspan was similar - he'd do anything not to let one happen.

But recessions, while painful, are neccessary - to clean out all the bad money and start again.

The policies of the last 10 - 20 years, which have aimed to prevent even mild recessions, have led us into this Depression. Money printing at 1% is pointless, it's just prlonging the inevitable. Look what happened with the Fed's Quantitive Easing, nothing. More unemployment, less consumer spending, lower markets, downgrading.

They are enemies of capitalism. Let the banks fail and lets get on with it.

Because they're politicians, and politicians find it much harder to get re-elected when their constituents are unhappy.
