I'm trying to find all of the amateur golf classic tournaments that take place around Ireland, and I have a list below of 11 (although a couple now seem to be dead).

Does anyone know of others? Many thanks

    Atlantic Coast Challenge
    Great Irish Links Challenge
    Causeway Coast Amateur Golf Tournament
    Heart of Down Tournament
    Coasts of Down Links Challenge
    Donegal Links Classic
    Laois International Golf Challenge
    Dunmore East Classic
    Tramore Golf Classic
    Erne Waterways Golf Challenge
P&O Irish Sea "Kingdoms of Down"

There is a 2nd one in the north west, Portstewart , Portrush (big course) and Ballyliffen I think, held Sept/oct

In Kerry there is the "Pat Mulcare", you play Ballybunion Old and Tralee over 2 days. Tralee and Killarney also started a new one this year called "Links and Lakes" over 2 days again.

Thanks for those, guys - very useful. Links & Lakes is a clever one - do you know which Killarney course it is?

    Hi Kevin,

They're competitions where a few courses get together and offer an amateur style tournament, played over a few days. e.g. Atlantic Coast Challenge costs €125 to enter and you get to play Enniscrone, Carne and Co. Sligo on consecutive days. You play Singles format, but you're also in a 3-ball team. There are prizes for the best daily scores and overall scores. The tournaments are variations of this format, but it's a cheap and fun way to get to play good courses in a semi-competitive environment.

The 3 Dungarvan clubs team up to hold 3 similar events during the year. A Senior Pairs, an Open Singles and an Open Pairs

That's some great courses listed at discounted fees. It would make a great tour for amateurs if the dates dont clash. Hope to play the Atlantic challenge again next year and might try a couple of others.

I spoke to Tralee yesterday and was told that the event is only for members of Tralee and Killarney Golf Clubs - basically they swap over two days.

Strange one, 3 of us (non members) were asked to play in it this year by a member of Tralee but I couldnt make it and I know the other 2 lads played in it. Maybe there has to be at least 1 member on the team.
