    Hi everyone,

This is my first post so be gentle. I was wondering if any of you can do home repairs/diagnostics etc. My machine has gone a bit haywire and I am clueless as to what may be causing the problem. I've made a short 3 minute video here:

    http://youtu.be/qu_dCOCs9gk

As you can see I'm using Blue Elf 2, I don't know if the issue is with the machine or with the cart, I don't have any other PCBs so I can't check unfortunately.

Has anyone any suggestions or willing to offer their services? All I can offer you in return is cash and beer, hope thats ok.

P.S. There is one other little issue, the 6th button for each player doesn't seem to work, but for now that's only a minor issue.

    Thanks.

That error that pops up when you launch a game from the frontend is a windows error(looks like windows 2000 and I think thats what Blue elf 2 runs). Pity the error is in chinese :(

So the problem is definitely with the Blue Elf 2 board and not your arcade machine. Maybe file corruption or missing files. The Blue Elf 2 is basically just a low spec PC running its own frontend on top of Windows 2000 or Windows XP(usually 2000 on these boards)

I'm not sure if you get any restore discs or anything like that with the Blue Elf 2(probably not).
Anyway, apart from the button problem you mention I'd say its safe to say the arcade machine is fine and just the board is knackered and in need some work or replacing.

    Edit:
If the board is new or nearly new maybe get on to whoever you got it from.

    Hi Mitchomagic,

Sorry for the late reply but how exactly would I go about checking something like that?

Use a multmeter to check what voltage your PSU is giving out on the +5v line
there is a pot to adjust, see pic

If it has the orginal power supply it will be different then the 1 pictured, from CathalDublin, but its the same idea, use a multimeter to adjust the 5V.but the orginal power supplys in the AS machines are know for giving issues.

Thanks guys, I'll pick up a multimeter today and let you know how I get on. This is all new territory for me.
