Tutoring in digital music

Does anyone know where i could get tutoring in the production of digital music. A directory or anything listing such things? Have looked and can't find.

I'd preferably like 1 on 1 tuition with hands on experience so i can sample the technology and know exactly the equipment i want without spending needless money.

I'm aiming to make more ambient stuff, post rock type stuff than dance or anything like that.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Hi there,

You might want to consider the Xmusic Academy's 10 week course in Sound Recording & Music Technology. The course looks at how to record, edit & mix music using today’s computer technology. Participants learn how to set up & use microphones, mixing desks, audio interfaces & recording software including the Pro Tools & Reaper. Students also learn about recording & editing MIDI information & how to program drums & synthesisers using virtual instruments.

Class numbers are limited to between 8 - 10 so everyone gets lots of hands on experience & we usually record an instrumental piece & mix it from start to finish towards the end of the 10 weeks.
