Hi there looking for a bit of help please.
I'm pregnant and on job seekers , was put out of work.
I'm staying in my aunties home as trouble with my father and cant stay there. And also father of baby is not in the picture.
I'm only getting 100 euro a week on the dole. I'm 27 weeks pregnant.
Today I had an interview with the council and they gave me a letter stating I was now on the housing list.
So I'm just wondering about what happens next...

I no I need to talk to my community welfare officer, but will I get rent allowance for me and the child now if I have a letter from the coombe when i go see her?
Or would she only consider giving it for myself and tell me to go back when the baby is born.

Any info on this would be great..

Ok i did not think I had to explain my history of where i was.... I went to Oz in march and came home at end of august. Why is that of any relevance though ??
I told a poster i waited for my job seekers before I went but not that i was still living in Oz?
I went on a years holiday visa and didn't stay the year..obviously because i fell pregnant in June so I wanted to come home to my family. I asked a question about my current situation not for you to call troll on me thanks!!

yes you should go see the cwo its not omly people that have children get rent allowance

so you should get it before you have the baby as you have a letter from your council saying your in need of housing

if you have been accepted on the council housing list the next step would be to find a private rented house but as you are still pregnant you can only claim rent supplement for yourself and not the baby when the baby is born if you bring the birth-cert and baby's PPS number to the CWO you can then claim for yourself and the baby

don't forget to claim for furniture and basic baby stuff also "hospital comforts"
Ah hun I know how hard it is supporting my self on 100 a week its tough.
