    Hi all,

Just need some opinions on the final piece of my build, the saddle. part of me is leaning twords the Fizik Antares as acording to their web site my spine movement (or lack of it!) sugests this.
I used to have a Spesh BG saddle on a previous bike and hated it ( Alias 143 ) . I have also used a Sella Italia c2 which was good up untill I did over 60k and then it started to ache like bugger.
I know saddles are a personal thing but my main problem is I am about 95 kg and any thing I have read says that the Antares is the wrong one and I should consider the Aliante.
The build by the way is a Wilier Cento 1 with Ultegra group set and Fulcrum racing 3 wheels , and the FSA bars and stems made for Wilier . I know it could be lighter but as I said above, I'm a big boy and need the strength of the alloy bars and stem and the racing 3 wheels

For me it's Brooks all the way, if you're after comfort on long spins. I'm about 82k and did an 11 hour spin this year on one with no pain in the ass/nuts or back. I'd the Selle gel flow previously that was great for about 4 hours and then became progressively less comfortable. The Brooks racing saddles look pretty good, albeit expensive. (Mine's a flyer that certainly wouldn't suit a racer) There's a swift on the adds section here that may be worth a look.

Was out with B2R in Ballymount last week and the have the full range of Antares saddles for Demo..

Given the price of them, you might be well advised to test ride one!!

Thanks for that, but I'm in waterford so I think a demo from a shop in ballymount is a no no! In regards to the brooks saddles I don't think they'll suit the wilier's lines . But I wont rule them out for an other bike next year as i'm also getting a full susser, an alu and a flat bar hybrid to fully fill my stable!

Have you considered a Selle San Marco ? Old school Italian. I've had the rolls for over a year and love it. I did a multi day tour on it recently and it was fine. Theres also the concur and the regal. Apparently Lance Armstrong swore by the concor..

Put a pic up after you finish the build. would be interested in seein it. is building a bike recommended or its it just hassle and costs the same?
