storage heater

    ok storage heaters in the house are about twenty years old all of them work fine but on one of them the "boost" setting does not work, there is a switch for it but no light comes on and no heat. the storage part of the heater works fine but not the immediate boost function. anyone know whats wrong or anyone know who i should contact to help? any idea how much it'l cost?? :confused: many thanks...

    The boost function, is it a fan heater? If so check the fuse on the switch on the wall. An electrician should be able to fix it, should not take too long but you never know until u actually see the problem...

    Boost in SH is simple solution - if you have torch you can look inside through top grille - there is metal flap closing extra duct for hot air (red arrow on the very top of:

    If you turn your BOOST knob it is opening and closing that duct - but sometimes it's broken and the flap is permanently closed - not serious damage but you need qualify electrician to dismount your SH to repair it (electric shock risk).
