    Looking for advice
I have a male friend who has just had a child because of a one night stand. He is willing to support the child and is willing to pay 60 euro a week maintenance as he has another child who he also pays 60 euro. That is all he can afford. The new childs mother is talking him to court asking for 150 euro a week. She has free legal aid so does not mind a day out in court. Has anyone advice that I can give my friend or been in a similar situation
    thanks

If your friends means are modest he may be able to apply for legal aid. But as an old saying goes cant take blood from a stone. But if your friend was a director of a big company earning 250K a year the court may not be happy with 60 a week if on the other hand he is 22 years of age on 100 a week social welfare then of course 60 may be way too much.

when he takes out his bills (rent, car, etc) he has about 150 left. He pays out of this 60 euro for his first child so he is left with 90. He is looking at getting a part time job to boost his income. Would he be entitled to free legal aid.? How much would the judge order he pay.?

It seems he may be entitled to legal aid, get him to call to his local Legal Aid Centre, they will advise him. As to the amount he will have to pay his solicitor will have to advise him.
