Soccer Forum Awards 2011 (Should We?!)

it's that time of year...the Budget is done, so it can only mean that it's time to think about reminiscing over the last year

it's a bit of fun i think, but i'll leave it up to the forum to decide if we should do it again. remember, it's not to be taken seriously, but i have taken out "shít-stirrer of the year", as it's just a bit needless IMO.

here are the categories from last year.

'Is He Done' Award for Thread of the Year
Rafa Benitez Award for Rant of the Year (by a poster, or someone in public eye)
Kammy award for Funniest Moment (by a poster, or someone in public eye)
Samir Nasri Award for Most Improved Poster
Dietmar Hamann Award for Most Unbiased Fan In a Rival Thread

if you're for having these things again, and you would like to put forward a different name for an award, go ahead, and we'll replace it, seen as some are probably a bit out of date. also, if you have an idea for a category, put that forward to, and if it gets support, then we'll use it.

this thread is for voting as to whether you want to do this, for coming up with awards, and for coming up with names for awards. your opportunity to nominate people or posts (if the forum votes that we want to do it) for the awards will come in a few days when i close this and put up another thread specifically for nominations.

Great Idea, I think it should be restricted to a photo form the last year to keep it current (which is the aim of the photo thread but some older ones get put in anyway).

Eirebhoys award should be dedicated to an award that willl always be used, Poster who left too soon should be left to players like Speed, nobody knows him and his name is meaningless in reality, Some people who use this forum actually knew/met Eirebhoy, his name should be synonymous with the 'best' award this forum offers....

While i like the sentiment, i don't think anyone would want to rank peoples deaths for an award.

I'd rather leave Eirebhoys award alone and make a new award for a poster who left to early for reasons other than dying (banned, stopped posting, etc). Also not sure if you can give Speed the award for the poster who left to early.

I think Ray Wilkins name should be involved for something along the lines of most annoying poster. Maybe the Ray Wilkins award for poster who always defends the indefensible or the most biased poster. Either would fit:D
