    Hi there,

Just wondering what I should be looking at as a target price for a new Octavia 1.6 tdi elegance. With the extras I want its coming in just shy of €25k on the Skoda.ie car configurator.

    My situation:

    No trade in
Would be buying on Skoda (VW) finance
    €7k deposit

I'd be interested to have people's views on this.

    Thanks

They are in demand and they wont have too much trouble selling one from stock. If they were to order one in there is a waiting time. What are the extras? They might be slow to order a car in and discount it if it's a special order. You should get a good grand off anyway.

    Thanks for that.

    Extras I selected were:

    metallic paint
    heated windscreen washers
    mats

I should have said that it'd be the estate model

That comes to €23,705 ex. works, before the VAT increase. No idea what delivery charge dealers try to charge on Skoda, but I'd be trying to get that car for around €22,700. Margin isn't as huge as people think on these cars, and they are in demand.

The Heated windscreen washers are going to mean a fresh factory order. I was quoted 6-8 weeks by Skoda this morning, but I'd take that with a pinch of salt. I'd plan on a March delivery and be happy if it came in sooner.

    If you are prepared to drop the Heated washers, there is plenty of stock coming through for the first week of January (checked availability yesterday);

    Cappuchino Beige
    Rosso Brunello Red
    Anthracite Grey
    Silver
    Lava Blue

Mats can be got from Parts and all the above are Metallic.

    ***EDIT***
    Just seen it's the Estate.

€24,820 ex. works before VAT increase. Aim for €23,700.

Must scarcer than the Hatch, and probably a factory build. There is definately one in stock without the heated washers, but I can't remember what colour as I didn't write it down.

The heated washer jets aren't great. The design of the sprayers on the Octavia means that they freeze very easily. And it doesn't heat the fluid in the pipes either so you would probably get a blockage there.

Mats can be put in by the dealers and most do.

Nice one guys. Great to have some kind of idea as to whats on offer.

Shame they couldnt design a better heated washer system - would be handy with these cold winters.

You can add solution to them to prevent the wash from freezing it self...

If I was paying that kind of coin especially with no trade-in, you can be sure I would insist on the mats being thrown in for free by the dealer.
