Never heard of an LL.M in common law in UL, but I did an LL.M and I was only in 3 days a week first semester and 2 days a week second semester. In saying this it could be different now, but I had about 8-10 hours a week of lectures - spread over 3 days the first semester and 2 the second. Then on top of that I had to do plenty of my own reading and study along with assignments - preparation for presentations, essays and being able to contribute in class (don't worry not as daunting as it sounds, actually quite fun and interesting if you like the subjects you do!). Then we had 3 months off to complete the dissertation so I found it very manageable I must say, I didn't work during it but many people in my class did and they still seemed to get through it fine and didn't complain.

I think you're thinking of a Freeman course there.
