Steering wheel problem

Hey all, I have an 03 Seat Cordoba and recently the steering wheel feels really loose when I'm driving/steering. It definitely feels different. Has anyone any ideas what could cause this and is this something that I should get checked out? It's only been the last few days it's been like that but I'm a bit concerned about it.

    Thanks

Could be worn tie rod ends, or a worn steering rack. How much play is in it?, is the car pulling to one side?, do you hear knocks when you turn the wheel?.

No the car doesn't seem to be pulling to one side and I don't hear any knocks. I'll probably just get it checked anyway, as you said there could be something worn on it.
