Disagree. It's relevant to the rest of this community that you are looking for help from. People can then be more aware of certain behaviours to watch for and precautions to take.

    This ^

Also, maybe a description beyond just the colour. Any dings/scratches or anything to set them apart from all the other A4s out there?

Sorry for your loss, hope they're recovered.

I hope you get the cars back...

Obviously not relevant to this situation, but someone around the corner from me had a 2009 Octavia with the engine running yesterday morning on the road outside the house. I kept looking back and nobody appeared from the house.

...If I was the sort - I could have easily taken it for a joyride to work ;)

    How so?

The thread was started to ask people to keep an eye out for two stolen cars. Nothing more, nothing less. How they were stolen doesn't matter in the slightest.

Even though its has no relevance to finding the cars it would help other people in the community to keep an eye out for the same signs of theft.

As well as that, if say the window was smashed then it would be completely relevant as it would be something obvious to look out for.

If the OP doesnt want to mention how they were stolen then thats fine.

Lets all not get our knickers in a twist over it and ruin the thread. I'm sure your imaginations can come up with the answer and are wise enough to know how to try and prevent it happening.

    Absolutely, completely his own business!

We've had two cars recovered here lately, ok one of them was burnt out, with boards.ie help. However, IMO, if the OP is not open with people here they are less likely to be as concerned.

Not as far as I know but we did have a Volvo V70R (I think) recovered and also a burnt out 335 found - both spotted by boards.ie regulars in the last few months.

Rather than giving a good clue to what a dealer is up to on here report it and let the papers inform the masses.

    No naming and shaming.

People here like to know for one reason only.

If the person "stupidly" left their engine running (to get their car nice and warm for themselves) or left the keys on the hall table about 2 foot from the letter box..... guess what, its another stolen car on the list.

It will probably ram a few Garda cars, be involved in a robbery and sure who pays for the stupidity.....

Everybody here through our ever increasing premiums.

Thats why people like to know.

Then again it might have been taken during the course of a burglary or dragged onto a tow truck.

In that case all necessary measures have been taken to prevent the theft.

The reason I stopped the questioning was because it was dragging the thread off topic and not beneficial to getting the OP's message out there. If you don't like it, report the post or PM the Mod as per the charter rather than arguing it on a week and a half old thread.

    Turner,

your former theory on how they were stolen was correct, got a PM from the garda prevention officer on how it happened. One could sum up the owner in one word.
    Those cars is gone gone

Agreed I am not concerned at all about them. Pretty stinky attitude to tell people to po while asking for there help.
