iPod Touch 8Gb question

    I hope this isn't a stupid question, but if one buys an iPod Touch 8Gb, can one upgrade it's storage space to 32Gb (or higher) subsequently ?

    I should state it is possible but this is through tampering (Prying open the back of it, replacing the memory chip, which I would say is soldered, and replacing it with a bigger storage capacity by soldering it back into place and sealing the case back shut) with your ipod and ultimately voiding the warranty.

    I assume you meant buying a bigger memory card and just swap it out easily from the ipod.

    Yeah, I meant what you assumed.

    It's for my kid so I think I'll go for the 8Gb. Think that should be loads for him but I just wanted to check if there were options to upgrade (without tampering).
