Is there a way I can set an alarm clock on my phone so that the phone powers up in the a.m. and the alarm goes off? just like my old piece of crap Nokia was able to do ??

If it's not inbuilt is there an app that I can get from the market that will do this?

Essentially I want to use the Samsung as an alarm clock without having to leave the phone switched on all night.

    Thanks

As far as I know, Android can't be set too do this. Your best bet is too leave the phone in airplane mode during the night. It should use negligible battery.

If I put on Airplane mode does it silence the phone (except for an alram) or what's the benefit of it?

I badly need an app or some type of alarm system to wake me in the a.m. is there any way of doing this?

    Thanks

Why do you not want to leave your phone on at night?

And no, it is not possible to get an app to power up your phone when it's off
