Ok so when getting a location of something on an O.S map, what way is it read out?
I think it is (Grid Letter) (vertical) (Horizontal)
Grid Letter = the letter given to the part of Ireland
Vertical = the numbers going vertically
horizontal = the numbers going horizontally

Along the corridor and up the stairs (as my teacher used to say).

    So,
    1. grid letter,
    2. numbers along the top or bottom (eastings),
    3. then the numbers going up the side (northings).

The biggest mistake people make, apart from doing these in the wrong order, is forgetting that the numbers on the side go upwards, not downwards.

Probably unrelated and you already know this, but the Map question comes up every year and if you practice it well is an easy question that you can rely on getting (near) full marks in. Well worth practicing it now!

For anyone wanting a quick way to remember:

    Len

    Letter, Easting, Nording.

Works well as they give you the north direction arrow.

My teacher always likes to gives us... suggestive reminders (all boys class). He says; key in the door (letter), go inside (easting/number along the bottom) and go up the stairs "to get the good stuff" (nording/number going vertical). It actually kind of helps... Haha. :pac: It might work for you!
