Hard Drive Prices

This time last year I was paying between €60 and €70 for 320gb 2.5 external HD's, and probably in and around €50 for the internal sata version, I would have bought a few at these prices too however, I just had a look through a couple of site as I need to get another couple and I cant believe how much the price has increased. Any one know why did has been the case.

Maybe someone might be able to link me to something cheaper than €90 for an 320gb external HD. Thanks

Flooding in Thailand has led to a massive increase for HDD and it will be that way for a while I'm afraid.

Seemingly alot of chips used in HD manufacture are made in Thailand and floods have reduced the number being made.
Therefore short supplies of HD's increases the price. I'm in the same boat as you (i.e. looking for a reasonably priced HD)

Why 2.5 and not 3.5....other than needing a plug, any other reason?
