I dont know how to explain myself because I know many people are in my shoes at the moment.
I know I am depressed, The usual after I pay my debts i can barely buy food for me and my family and then I cant pay the bills.
Im worried about xmas and all the things all of us on low incomes are facing.
My oil boiler is broken and i cant afford to fix it so i can only heat one room with the fire. My daughter was frozen last night in bed.
I know because I have thoughts of suicide I should talk to my G.P, But what will he do except give me tablets to make me feel better, it wont help my problems.
I know the thing stopping me is my child, I just feel like I cant go on, did anyone else feel this way and how did you help yourself?
Nobody knows how I feel because over the years i have become so good at putting on a brave face.

OP, I feel for you in a tough situation. But unfortunately depression is something that you really shouldnt try to handle alone. Your gp is the best place to start, you could ask to be referred for counselling if you think medication is not where you want to go. Also www.aware.ie can be of help. www.mabs.ie is somewhere you can go to ask for advice about your money problems. Dont be afraid to speak out and ask for help, it is not a sign of weakeness, it is a sign of courage.

You mention suicidal thoughts (even in passing) and it is policy for us to close threads where the original poster may be suicidal. This is because we simply dont have the tools or capabilites needed to help such people properly. Please understand this is because we want you to get proper, real world help. I hope that you do get in touch with the places mentioned above and that they help you out of this.
