i was wondering is it possible to combine saorview which i already have and freesat on a tv with the hd box built in (lg 42lk530)

the input is rf only which i'm using for the saorview, i have a old sky plus box(sd) so dual input(f connectors) which is connected to tv by scart.

so is there a way using splitters and power adaptors or the sky box to power the lnb to get the tv to scan the channels off the dish and get all the free hd channels on there?

    all suggestions are welcome, thanks..

you need a "Freesat HD" box or possibly an S/H "Sky HD" box (but not as good, only worthwhile at €50 or less).

Your TV doesn't understand Satellite signals (DVB-s), it's for Terrestrial (DVB-t). Not just a question of Power. The Frequency is wrong too as the Satellite IF is 950MHz to 2100MHz on the coax, and TV is 175MHz to 862MHz. Also channel width on Terrestrial is 8MHz. On Satellite it's 1.7MHz to 50MHz depending on the Symbol rate (roughly 1,5Msps to 45Msps, and Freesat is 22Msps to 29Msps I think inc DVB-S2)

So loads of reasons it can't work.

    hey watty,

not the answer i was looking for but sounds fairly definite.
guys in the shops didn't have a clue.

may get the hd box that i thought was built in, bit of a con that but at least the saorview is comin in crystal on it.

    cheers.
