How to install cone filter?

    Some1 told me that if I will install cone filter in my old seat ibiza 2 1.0 1997, I will get little bit better engine sound :cool:

    Okey so there is my problem, If I have cone filter, what part should I remove and in which place I need to install cone filter?

    If its just a better "sound" you want find the resonator for the air intake and remove it.

    Its safe as far as I know. When people fit cold air intakes they remove them so I cant see how it would damaged the engine.The resonator if I'm right is to muffle the sound of the air being sucked into the engine.

    If you remove the resonator but find that there's holes in the air intake between the filter the throttle body, that's where you would be cutting to attached the filter. Once its not very close to the hot engine. If it is then you'd have to add piping to take the filter away from the hot engine to a cooler part under the bonnet somewhere.:D

    The intake system of your car is not suitable for a generic cone filter. In order to fit one you'd need a custom pipe which will replace the factory airbox and also have take offs for the factory vacuum connections.

    If you fit the filter as per your diagram it will make no difference to the noise as the airbox is still in place, and its this which baffles the sound. Also if you fit the cone filter there without removing the factory filter, you will restrict the airflow to the engine.
