    Hi

I have a 00 mazda 323 1.3 which seems to be driving fine but the battery light stays on and the heating is not working just blowing out cold air.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

    Thanks.

For the heating, Check your coolant level

battery may be alternator belt slipping,

does the car whistle on start up?

Thanks for the quick reply, yes it does make a whistle noise when i start it,
is this a big job to get fixed or will it do damage to car if i drive it?
Sorry know very little about cars.

The heating would be more dangerous than the battery, that needs professional attention immediately. The belt either needs tensioning or replacement, part is under €20

The heating in your car works like the radiators in your house, hot water from the engine flows through the heater, if theres no water flowing through, you get no heat, no water is bad.
