RazorPit Razor Blade Sharpener anyone have one??

anyone have one of these bad boys that are supposwd to be great for resharpening razor blades between uses to get more uses out of each blade..

I've heard people say good an bad things about them tbh.

For me, the theory in which they are supposed to work doesn't make sense. You are only going to sharpen one side of the blade so it won't actually do much. The bevel on the other side of the blade doesn't get refined at all so I don't see how they will extend the life of a cartridge as long as some of the claims say.

There may be some sort of placebo effect going on.

It is probably more accurate to say they are blade cleaners rather than blade sharpeners. They basically clean and help maintain the edge of a cart blade therefore extending its life. They are more effective if you use them with a new blade rather than trying to breathe life into an already dull blade.

I think Mantic59 did a test using a Razorpit with a DE and said it worked to a certain degree... Due to the cost of DE blades I'm not sure it would be worth the effort or money though:pac:

I had one for a while (when using carts) and placebo was the thing that sprang to mind. When I ditched carts I gave it away.
