Underfloor heating and wood floors

We are looking at Junckers solid wood floor for our new build which will have a heatpump and under floor heating. The guy in brooks says its the best way to go as other wood floors are more volatile and that all that stuff about semi/engineered floors been better is rubbish.
I just want any experienced opinions as to it's suitablity. A few people have said that junckers floors are the best for underfloor heating while others say solid wood flooring generally is not suitable at all.
We much prefer solid over semi solid/engineered flooring. Is there any issue with the thickness of it 22mm or other things to consider.

Also when buying who much should you minimally allow for waste?

I'm no expert but I always wondered about the logic of covering a heat emmitter (uf) with an insulant (wooden flooring) and if this is reflected in the calcs to design/dimension the heating system. Is it not analogous to wrapping rads with blankets?

Thats another debate. Do you think people with UFH should have tiles throughout their house? Radiators dont need covering whereas floors do. With that in mind...

We have solid wood floors and UFH, no problems with heat distribution.
If wood is that great an insulator then we should all have wooden ceilings to stop the heat radiating away.
Heat rises and wood will maybe slow it down but not stop it. Which is a good thing if you think of UFH as a giant low temperature storage heater.

    Hi troy
Junckers is a very good to use on underfloor heating. you can use 14mm, 22mm strip flooring or 20.5mm wide board. To get all the information you require look at Junckers website. Google it and you will get all the info.

I have installed different types of junckers on ufh. Each installation is different. I never had a problem. Junckers in ireland will send a rep through your local merchant. They are brilliant and technically very compitent.

I would have your floor fitter on site when rep calls. ask plenty of questions
