    Team News;

    Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov will return to the side after missing the draw at Swansea last weekend with a tight hamstring.

    Emile Heskey is set to make his 500th Premier League appearance - becoming only the sixth player to reach this milestone.

    Dimitar Berbatov will miss out with an ankle injury, while twins Rafael and Fabio da Silva are also sidelined.

    Forward Danny Welbeck is a doubt with a muscle strain.

    Possible line ups;

    When is Clev back?

    If City beat Norwich this is a must win.

    Decent selection from Villa, shaking it up a bit. Where is N'Zog?

    Nothing said about him, must be either injured or just dropped!

    Jones and Carrick in the middle, interesting.

    With Rooney to drop into the midfield and catch them on the counter, smash and grab win will do today.

    Happy with that Utd team. Jones in the middle will be one to watch.

    At least Villa look like they want to play a bit of football with that team selection.

    Albrighton, Bannan, Bent and Agbonlahor are good footballers. Half of them didn't play in the Spurs game where Villa were awful.

    It'll be interesting to see how Jones does in a two man midfield beside Carrick.

    smash and grab win will do today.

    Any win will do today.

    How long will Fergie continue with the lone striker? Starting to annoy me.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,949 ✭✭✭Samich

    Feel ok with Lindegaard in goal, no worries there.

    Liking the sound of Jones in midfield.

    Need a win,any kind of win.City hit 5 against Norwich so we can't afford to drop any points this evening or they'll start to open up too big of a gap very very quickly.
    Rooney having to drop into midfield shows just how light we are there.This needs to be a top priority that needs to be fixed.

    Also so glad to see Valencia on the bench. He's so one dimensional. Bring him on when you need a change in the last 25 mins.

    OMG Rooney's in the studio!

    Hoping for a Manchester United win. McLeish will try and bore them to death, but they'll win 2-0 IMO.

    Must say I am worried about this game. United lucky to get the 1-0 wins in the last few weeks. Eventually got caught last week and Wednesday night was another poor display. (I know almost different players). If United win I will be absolutely delighted. Not too confident. Once again centre midfield looks poor.

    Is Lindegaard in goal purely a form decision or is De Gea carrying a knock?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 21,235 ✭✭✭✭flahavaj

    A lot of pace in that Villa line up and more offensive than McLeish has set them up usually. Tough game.

    whichever it is Fergie just claimed he is resting De Gea with Lindegaard in form but to expect De Gea in the wed game

    It's just rotation. He always gives Lindegaard the odd game to keep him happy.

    Some keeper to have as a number two as well.

    Last time was October 1st against Norwich IIRC. 2-0

    Crossed the halfway line whilst McLeish is manager.
