Does anyone know if there are any stores that carry keyboards with the US style layout?

You do realise that the only real difference between US and UK is the swapping of the " and the @ symbols and the only difference between UK and Ireland is the adding of fadas with the Alt Gr key?

Operating systems allow you to change settings to US settings (or any other settings).

I know they are mostly similar - but I use #, @ and " quite a bit. I'd prefer for my home keyboard and my work keyboard to be the same to avoid typos.

I also know you can control the layout as seen by the OS; but I'd probably prefer to have the label on the physical key match what appears when I type.

Don't get me wrong, it's not a huge deal; but if I can pick one up in town I think I'd be willing to pay for it. I just didn't know if any stores would carry it or if I'm just in the tiny, tiny minority that would want it.

Komplett stock US keyboards. You can order online but collect it from their depot in Dublin. They have a forum here on Boards where you can check with one of their reps too.

It's a good idea - but if you look at the keyboards, you'll see why it doesn't work. Some of the keys are different sizes (particularly the left-shift and enter keys)

    Thanks for the suggestion though

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to replace your work keyboard?
