    You're brave!
Cold and dry with clear skies tonight. Widespread frost with temperatures falling to between -1 and +2 degrees in light westerly winds.

Came out along the coast from Portmarnock to Malahide about 90 mins ago and it was ok. Felt like it was getting to freezing temperatures though, and the roads were damp.

Temperature on my Garmin hovered around the 4c mark along the way up to Howth Head...

3 flat tires in 1 week, here. Roads in Dublin seem to kill tires. Take a kit with you!

Apparently Evelyn Cusack was on recently and said we were good for the next two to three weeks, ie. colder than recent but no snow.

Didn't think forecastors gave much praise to longer range forecasts...... those more than a week in advance.

It was pretty damn cold out at 7pm.

Wrap up and be careful if you're going out on the bike at night

What do people wear to keep yer head warm... I was out last night and got one of those ice cream headaches from the wind chill factor. I'm thinking of using a thin woolly hat tomorrow and adjusting the helmet slightly so it fits. Will that be too warm or is there a better alternative?

Thanks folks...just had a lackluster turbo session instead.

windproof thin "skull cap" is the remedy for ice cream headaches

    Try this...http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=56420

Fits under the helmet well and keeps head, ears and back of the nec
    k toasty...

Go for a spin or drag myself onto the turbo?

Accuweather are saying lowest temp will be 3 deg between now and midnight.

Met Eireann are saying "Very cold tonight with frost and icy patches expected as temperatures drop to between zero and minus 2 degrees. Isolated wintry showers dying out"

I think Met Eireann are too conservative these days. What are the roads like around North County Dublin?

Going for a spin myself around NCD at 8.30 or so. You're welcome to join me.

Thanks but I'm heading out now - glad to know there'll be someone else out there if i end up in a ditch!

It was 3 degrees when I arrived home a couple of hours ago. With clear skies, and the rural areas a bit colder than built up areas, I'm sticking to the turbo tonight - I was caught out by dropping temperatures 2 years ago, and don't want to risk another broken wrist (or worse).

Just had a surprisingly enjoyable spin around South County Dublin with a few laps of Killiney Hill thrown in! As always, looks worse than it is when you finally drag yourself out the door!

+1 It was 5 degrees according to the Garmin and I was too warm after a while.

Wasn't too cold at all. Crosswinds were a bit iffy once or twice but it was grand overall.
