    http://news.ie.msn.com/poll-to-select-irish-eu-presidency-logo
The logo to represent Ireland‘s seventh presidency of the European Union in 2013 is to be selected by an online competition.

From today the public can vote on its favourite design from a shortlist of four to “best represent the image the country wants to project” in the role.

The design with the highest number of votes will be developed for use extensively online and in print.

The four designs – Logotype, Connections, Wave and Spirals – all feature the presidency’s web address with blue and green lettering on a white background.

The country’s presidency of the EU during the first half of 2013 coincides with the 40th anniversary of Ireland’s accession.

At today’s launch Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs Eamon Gilmore said it is important for the country to present a “strong signal” to its partners about Ireland’s ability to manage the agenda of the EU.

The logo will be the “starting point” for how the presidency will present itself to other member states and to that end he is opening up the process to the public to select the design.

Minister of State for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton said she hoped people will get involved in selecting their favourite logo.

She said all four designs represent a “modern, dynamic and innovative Ireland” and called on people to decide which they believe best represents the image to project the presidency to other member states.

The poll, on the Government website www.merrionstreet.ie, will close at 5pm, December 31st, and the winning design will be announced in the New Year.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this, particularly when they've probably gone and spent a fecking fortune on what imo is a loada bo11ox. There's even a poll to decide the logo for the Irish presidency. There are 4 choices and frankly the four of em are sh1te!

My suggestion: Enda's head on a donkey with Angela Merkel holding a loan note in place of a carrot!

    Any other thoughts or suggestions for an alternative logo? Something to represent cronyism, nepotism, debt, EU A$$ kisser etc;

I think they should choose a picture of a coffin to represent the imminent death of Higgins and Ireland as a first world nation:D

Obviously, it should be something like a black hole sucking our money in and funneling into bankers' etc. pockets on the other side.

A map of Ireland with 98% of it buried in a septic tank.

    Here's one.

A middle aged woman and a small wiry man are cooking something - they are tending the fire - and what they are cooking is a large plate in the shape of Ireland, where there's a small man, sitting on top of a part-finished house, with rubble all around him, and there's a skeletal remains of a fish/bison called Anglo near the rubble. This metal plate is more like a pot - or a cage - metal bars (like a jail ) each of which is tipped by an yellow star EU star.

That's all. Sorry, I am a bit bored today.

It should be a map of ireland bent over germany, being butt fúcked by france while greece cries tied to a radiator in the corner.

I like it... That is such a realistic portrait there is no way they'd allow it though

I'd vote for it rather than the available choices.
