Hepatitis-A

Recently, I got the results of a blood test (I won't say what for) and I was told that I was Hepatitis A - weak/positive (or something along those lines).

I don't have any symptoms yet and I'm not 100% sure where I might have contracted it, although I did travel to Italy last year so maybe I got it from the drinking water there.

My doctor is giving me some sort of vaccine to make me immune to it.

I'm not looking for any specific medical advice, I just want to know if there are any general lifetime precautions I must take to ensure that I don't pass the virus onto anyone else. For example, would I ever be allowed to work in restaurant as a food handler/waiter/chef, things like that, etc.? Does the risk that I might infect someone else go down after a number of years or would I remain a constant risk?

    Thanks for your help.

As far as I know it doesn't cause chronic infection!

It lasts for a few weeks but I don't think its too dangerous

According to this and this, you've picked it up in the last 2-6 Weeks.

Picked up from someone that has it or contaiminated Food or Water.

It's not one of the Chronic, Liver destroying ones, the Virus leaves the body, you should be back to normal in 6 months.

Stay away from Alcohol, fatty foods and drink lots of water to prevent relapses for the 6 months- I'd stick to this as best I could if it were me.

Wiki page is very good to.
