First time claimant. Made 5 weeks ago with follow up meeting with Inspector about 3 weeks ago.

No word yet. Can you phone the SW Office or call in on spec for an update. Badly in need of it being sorted out now but not sure if they will even answer the phone or might it even peev then off ringing if they have backlogs?

If I know its going to take awhile longer I could go to the last resort, Communiy Welfare Office. Or are they just as slow to deal with payments?

    Any advice appreciated.

You could phone them. Personally I would go in to follow up the claim as you are face to face with someone and they will probably get you a more concrete answer.

Thanks. I was thinking that might be the best option but it seemed when last in there, every hatch was by pre-appointment except first claims hatch. suppose i could go back to first claims hatch?

Not sure where your local swo office is but if there's a reception/queries desk that'd be my first port of call then explain you've already applied and you'd like to follow up.

They should be able to point you in the right direction from there. Usually there's a ticketing system in operation but I don't think you should be waiting too long - bring a book or an mp3 or something just in case :)
