DRIVING LICENCE RENEWAL.

My driving licence is due for renewal shortly. I am confused about one point.

    My present licence covers groups A1, A, B, EB, C1, EC1.

I attended my GP today to get FORM D.501 completed. You need that for licence catergories C1 and EC1.

My GP examined me. I am medically fit for all the catergories of my present licence for the next 10 years.
My eyesight was checked too and I do not need to wear glasses for driving.

    PROBLEM.

My GP thinks that you also need an additional FORM D.502 (EYESIGHT REPORT) to cover the renewal of the C1 and the EC1 classes of licence but he is not sure.

What medical forms do I need to renew my licence for groups A1, A, B, EB, C1, EC1 ?

Do I need a form FORM D.502 (EYESIGHT REPORT) for renewal of catergories C1 and EC1 if my GP is satisfied that he can sign a form D.501 for all catergories of my licence for the next 10 years.

I telephoned the motor tax office about this and was even more confused by their answers !

    Any advice please ? Thanks.

    Finally sorted.
Form D.502 is only needed if there has been a major change in your sight since your last licence.
