2011 A/R/T Awards

Are we doing them this year? The mods seem very lazy lately, it might be a good idea to get them some vote-counting exercise before Xmas.

From previous years, the list has been:

1. Performance Highlight
2. Athlete of
3. Photo Highlight
4. A/R/T Thread
5. Best poster
6. Best Debut
7. Best training log
8. Best race report

but nothing to stop posters suggesting other categories I guess. Its a good way to remember the best of what has been posted here in the past year.

Any appetite for this?

This crossed my mind few weeks ago but figured it was too soon however I think might be an idea to get started in terms of nominations.

If anyone would like to nominate any poster/performance/post thread etc for any of the headings above PM me or if you have an idea for another award PM that to and I can post it.

We will give nominations till the 12th @ 6pm after which nominations will be closed and we will put up polls for each of the awards for people to vote on

Guess it's worth mentioning that these are awards confined to A/R/T performances/posters/threads. You're voting on the best of who frequent here, not Patrick Makau vs. Deirdre Ryan!

All nominations are welcome regardless how long you are posting.I am seeing a trend of some of the old guard but would be interested in getting a few nominations from the newer members as us old heads can tend to overlook some threads from time to time which are important to alot of the posters.

Remember this are subjective so you can nominate absolutely anyone/post/performance you feel is worth getting a mention

Surely this is the only possible contender for post and picture awards ... even if the picture is a couple of years old at this stage.


OK, maybe it needs a "lifetime achievement award" or something especially for that picture.

I want to do more hill running, any ideas? I am in Kildare :-)
